At My Final Resting Place™, we believe information about the people and places that matter should be available to as many people as possible.

My Final Resting Place™ is operated by The Memorial Collective Inc. We are committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible and usable for people with different abilities, needs, technologies and ways of navigating the web.

1. Our Approach

Accessibility is an ongoing part of how we design, develop and improve My Final Resting Place™.

We aim to consider accessibility when developing website content, navigation, forms, account experiences and other digital features.

As technology and accessibility practices evolve, we will continue working to identify and address barriers that may affect the people using our Services.

2. Accessibility Standards

We aim to follow recognized accessibility practices and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as a reference when designing and improving our digital experiences.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and the availability or accessibility of individual features may change as My Final Resting Place™ continues to develop.

We do not claim a specific WCAG conformance level unless and until that level has been formally assessed and verified.

3. How We Support Accessibility

As part of our accessibility efforts, we aim to support:

  • clear and consistent navigation;
  • logical heading structures;
  • readable typography and appropriate text sizing;
  • sufficient colour contrast;
  • keyboard navigation;
  • visible keyboard focus indicators;
  • descriptive links and controls;
  • alternative text for meaningful images;
  • form labels and instructions that are understandable;
  • layouts that adapt across different screen sizes and devices;
  • content that can be enlarged without unnecessarily limiting functionality; and
  • compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies where reasonably possible.

4. Images and Memorial Content

My Final Resting Place™ includes photographs, maps and other visual content that may form an important part of a memorial or resting-place record.

We aim to provide accessible alternatives or supporting information for meaningful visual elements that are part of the My Final Resting Place™ interface.

Some memorial content is uploaded directly by users or organizations. The accessibility of user-provided content may therefore vary.

5. Maps and Location Information

Maps and precise resting-place information are important features of My Final Resting Place™.

Because interactive maps can present accessibility challenges for some users, we aim to provide important resting-place information in additional formats where reasonably possible, such as written location details, addresses, cemetery information or GPS coordinates.

Our goal is to ensure that important resting-place information is not communicated solely through a visual map.

6. Third-Party Services

Some parts of My Final Resting Place™ may rely on third-party services or technologies.

Although we aim to select and integrate services thoughtfully, we do not control the accessibility of every third-party platform, service or website.

If you experience an accessibility barrier involving a third-party feature used within My Final Resting Place™, we encourage you to contact us so we can better understand the issue.

7. Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is not a one-time project.

As My Final Resting Place™ grows, we may update existing features, introduce new functionality and improve the ways people interact with the Services.

We will continue to consider accessibility as part of that work and address identified barriers where reasonably possible.

8. Accessibility Feedback and Assistance

If you experience difficulty accessing My Final Resting Place™, encounter an accessibility barrier, or need assistance accessing information or using a feature, please contact us.

We welcome accessibility feedback and will make reasonable efforts to understand the issue and provide assistance or an alternative way to access the relevant information where possible.
